The challenge

You are the most expensive data-entry clerk in the building

Email. Scheduling. Data entry. Chasing the reply that never came. Reformatting a document because the last version went out looking wrong. None of it needs your expertise and all of it needs doing, so it gets done at nine at night by whoever costs the most per hour, which is you.

You keep it because handing it over takes longer than doing it. That is true the first time. It stops being true somewhere around the third week.

Work that turns on a judgment call belongs one tier up.

The tasks

What a Basic placement does all day

  • 01

Calendar management, scheduling and appointment setting

  • 02

Inbox management, filtering and the follow-ups that fall out of it

  • 03

Data entry, spreadsheet upkeep and CRM contact records

  • 04

Document preparation, formatting and file organization

  • 05

Basic research and pulling information together

  • 06

    Travel arrangements and coordination

  • 07

Simple report compilation on a set schedule

The common thread is that a right answer exists and can be looked up. There is a rule, or a template, or somebody to ask.

Cost

What it costs at 10, 20 and 40 hours

10 hours a week

$12.00an hour

$520 a month

Full rate, no discount applied.

20 hours a week

$935 a month

40 hours a week

$10.20an hour

$1,767 a month

15 percent off the rate.

Billed monthly on hours used, and the discount applies on its own once you cross the threshold. Hours move up and down as the work does, and Basic hours mix with the other two tiers on one invoice.

The handover

Ten days to place, then two weeks of writing things down

The match takes 7 to 10 business days. What takes longer is the part that decides whether any of it works.

Routine work is the easiest thing in a business to hand over, because the standard can genuinely be written. What time the invoices go out. Which inbox gets triaged first. Who gets called when a client replies angry. Write those down once and a Basic placement runs them for years. Leave them in your head and you will be answering the same question every Tuesday, and paying $12 an hour for the privilege.

That is the whole mechanism, and it is not clever. What decides a placement is whether the standard left your head before the person arrived.

Wrong tier

When Basic is the wrong choice

Expert, $15 an hour

Bookkeeping and reconciliations, social and email marketing, hiring coordination, customer conversations that need a judgment call.

If the task has a domain behind it, the extra three dollars is the cheapest part of the decision.

Specialized, $40 an hour

Website and funnel build, CRM automation, financial modeling, video production.

Buying professional work at admin rates wastes the hours and the goodwill of the person doing them.

There is nothing below Basic. If the work is routine and there is not much of it, the honest answer might be a better template rather than another person.

Fit

Who Basic fits

A strong fit

  • You spend too much of the week on tasks that do not need your expertise.
  • The work is routine and repeatable, and there is a steady supply of it.
  • You are ready to delegate and unsure where to start.
  • You want the hours back for selling, deciding or being somewhere other than your desk.

Not the right fit

  • Not for work that needs somebody on site. A remote placement cannot open your shop or sign for a delivery.
  • Not for a job that changes shape every week and has never been written down anywhere. A Basic placement runs a defined job well. Defining it is your side of the deal, and we will help, but somebody has to do it.
  • Not for a business where the process itself is the problem. Faster admin on a broken workflow is still a broken workflow, and now it costs $520 a month.

Questions

Common questions about Basic

How quickly can I get started?

Placement runs 7 to 10 business days. We take the time to understand what you need before matching, and then we move.

What if the person is not a good fit?

We handle it. Tell us it is not working and we replace them at no additional cost, with no time limit on that. You are not stuck with anyone who is not meeting the standard.

Can I mix Basic with the other tiers?

Yes. Plenty of clients run Basic hours for admin and add Expert or Specialized hours for a specific piece of work. You pay for the hours you use at each level.

How does billing work?

Monthly, based on hours used, with no hidden fees. Volume discounts apply automatically once you cross the threshold.

Do I manage them day to day?

You set the priorities and say what finished looks like. An enablement coach handles their training and the regular check-ins.

Start the conversation

Which hour would you take back first?

Half an hour on a call. Tell us what you did yourself last week that somebody else could have done, and we will tell you what is worth handing over.
