Distribution & Wholesale

Business Consulting for Distribution and Wholesale

Distribution runs on working capital, and working capital runs on decisions made weeks earlier. Purchasing, inventory, and sales each look reasonable on their own while pulling hard against each other.

Who it is for. Wholesalers, distributors, warehouse-based companies, importers, B2B suppliers, and inventory-driven businesses.

The pattern

Why growth stalls for distribution and wholesale businesses

Cash sits in stock that is not moving while the fast movers run short

Purchasing buys to a rule of thumb rather than to demand

Order processing and warehouse flow depend on who knows the workarounds

You are the only one seeing across buying, selling, and cash at once

What we do about it

How LINX helps

We work purchasing, inventory, and the sales side as one system: what you buy, what you carry, how an order moves through the warehouse, and what all of that ties up in working capital. Then we put ownership and reporting around it, so the trade-offs belong to somebody rather than to your instinct.

Where the constraint is capacity, LINX Leverage staffs order processing, purchasing support, and back office work, so the operation stops depending on the two people who know the workarounds.

Fit

Is this right for your business?

A strong fit

  • You are owner-led, typically 5 to 50 employees and $500K to $10M in revenue.
  • You want a real thinking partner, not a one-time strategy deck.
  • You want help getting the work done, not advice on its own.
  • Location is not a constraint. We work virtually from Omaha.

Not the right fit

  • You want advice with no help executing.
  • You are looking for the cheapest possible option.
  • You want a strategy deck rather than changes that hold.

If it is not a fit, we will tell you that on the first call and point you somewhere useful.

Questions

Asked and answered

We have an ERP. Is this not a software problem?

The software is usually reporting a decision problem accurately. Reorder points, buying rules, and who owns the call matter more than the system does. We fix those first, and the ERP gets more useful.

Our cash is tied up in inventory. Where does that start?

With what you carry and why. Most distributors we work with are funding slow stock while short on the items that turn. Sorting that releases cash before anything else changes.
